True stories about daring rescues want you to believe this is real and makes you think you’re out there trying to help or survive, but The Finest Hours didn’t fully get to that. It’s a fine story to tell but there not enough depth to really caring in the writing but it gained fine performances from Chris Pine and Holliday Grainger and some of the scenes where there out at sea were amusing. Ben Foster’s acting is questionable though. This felt like a less tainted version of The Perfect Storm without all of the excitement.
The Finest Hours showed the courage it needs to fulfill this true story although it did feel like any rescue film but just simple and underwhelming.
