About Me

Greetings, and welcome to DC’s Take! The movie review blog where I can share my love for film with everybody.

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved movies. There isn’t a particular movie that inspired me for the person I am today, but always had a passion for watching them and experience everything it takes to make them. Give me a topic about anything movie-related, and I’m willing to do my best to give you a straight-forward answer. But there’s just something about going in-depth with every single movie that has come out that’s engaging. Have I seen every movie in the world? Not even close. But I’m always up to watch anything that’s worth my time.

Around mid-2016, it was the right time to start writing about the movies I watch instead of telling it to my friends and family. This was the first step into what I want to do with my future, and I felt pretty confident, even though I don’t consider myself a good writer. Watching YouTube reviewers like Chris Stuckmann, Jeremy Jahns, Schmoes Know, Tom Chatalbash, and reading a ton of reviews online over the years, it made me want to critique film just like everyone else. img_4546

It started out with some fieldwork during the second semester of my sophomore year at Bethel University, where I was given the opportunity to write reviews for our school newspaper. That the first time people that I know like what I had to say. It wasn’t until two years that I decided to finally start a blog with my thoughts about movies in hopes to share it with everybody else around the world. That’s where we are now with DC’s Take. Why? Because it allows me to be expressive about one thing I love in life.

My dream job is to become a film critic just like Peter Travers or the late Roger Ebert, as some believe that I’m not too bad at critiquing movies when I talk about them. And someday, I would love to be an approved critic on Rotten Tomatoes.

As I finished college back in December 2019, I graduated with a B.A. Communication. Even if it doesn’t help me out in what I want to accomplish, it’s still a hobby that’s entertaining to me.

It’s my job to make my opinion and be reliable for what I have to say. If you’re anything like me and are a huge film nerd, DC’s Take is the site for you. Now that you know where I’m coming from, I hope you enjoy the reviews I’m able to post for your pleasure.

“I believe that if, at the end of it all, according to our abilities, we have done something to make others a little happier, and something to make ourselves a little happier, that is about the best we can do. To make others less happy is a crime. To make ourselves unhappy is where all crime starts. We must try to contribute joy to the world. That is true no matter what our problems, our health, our circumstances. We must try.”
