James Wan is the man when it comes to horror. He truly knows suspense and creepiness to compel the story along with some of the most horrifying horror movies that aren’t Insidious: Chapter 2. Now 2013’s The Conjuring is one of the best horror movies of the decade so far and a sequel is something horror fans really want to see.
With The Conjuring 2, it knows everything it’s needed to be a successful sequel. This new case from the Warrens maybe won’t be any different from what was shown in its predecessor. This totally stacked up to be a more chilling sequel with a chain of events with scenes that were covered in real life making it more creepy. Wan really knows how to direct scenes with good framing in his shots and non-scary jump scares to where it’s not false scares but felt real when something is trying to appear on the screen. What happened in the first ten minutes were terrifying that lead to believing a solid picture.
Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as Lorraine and Ed Warren are still perfect almost keep think of them as a real married couple in real life and an unbelievable breakout performance from Madison Wolfe. You see the scares that she’s interfering it. Understand that the writing that went into this by The Hayes Brothers, Wan and David Leslie Johnson feel real and this actually happened with these paranormal investigations of a powerful story along.
But in the meantime, I’m staying away from old men and Nuns. One of the only brief issues was pacing. ‘Cause it was a too long for a horror movie and some of the scares weren’t all that effective. But it’s a strong movie that’s unnerving until it ends.
The Conjuring 2 wasn’t nearly as great as the first hit, but it’s still pretty scary horror sequel a lot of good tension and genuine scares all made possible by Wan himself.
