Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising Review

Want to make the same movie with a different premise? Switch out frat boys and make them sororities. Easy solution to make a sequel. 2014’s Neighbors was so funny and kind of underrated at best. But with Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, this is the same plot except with sororities living next door. Familiar? Yes. But it worked for what this sequel got. Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne still have good chemistry with each other along with Zac Efron, who’s still pretty good in this role considering his character, Teddy, still feels like a frat. He does more comedies like this and he could end up becoming a good comedic actor. Chloe Grace Moretz didn’t fit this type of role just isn’t mature enough yet not counting Kick-Ass. This comedy does take a good stance for women to stand up and take the liberty to do whatever they want. The jokes work sometimes and the gags don’t really get tiresome for a while in the first movie standards.

Ike Barinholtz, Rose Byrne, Carla Gallo, Seth Rogen, and Zac Efron in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016)

Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising exceeded being a good comedy sequel. Though wasn’t gut-busting funny as the original and it carries familiar beats to it, this could lead more into this franchise that could still stand on its feet. B
